Ahmed + Asma | Couples Session | Downtown Toronto, ON

Ahmed surprised his wife, Asma, with a 4-day trip to Toronto for their 10 year wedding anniversary, and a photoshoot! He had reached out to me months before their trip to book this session, and only told Asma once they had arrived in Toronto.

A few days leading up to the shoot, Toronto had some gorgeous spring weather — high temperatures and sunshine. But the day of their session, temperatures dropped and it was cold and wet. However, this didn’t stop us! We braved the cold and the rain and embraced what the day had to offer us.

We went with the flow for this session. Ahmed had hoped they could get a mix of both city and water for their session, with plans to head to the lake but because of the weather, we decided to stay downtown. We didn’t have any particular Designations in mind when we started; we just decided to stroll and find inspiration as we went.

We met at their hotel, the St. Regis at Bay and Adelaide Street and we walked south down to Front Street and took photos inside and outside of Union Station, with the beautiful CN Tower in the backdrop. We then walked east to the Esplanade for photos on the promenade and outside of the St. Lawrence Centre for Performing Arts. The incredible mural in the background of the last photo below, called “The Original 6 Nations Peace Treaty: A visual Healing Experience” is by Anishnaabe mural artist — Quentin “Que Rock” Commanda.
